EastRise Credit Union Names Robert Miller President and CEO

EastRise Credit Union today announced that its Board of Directors has appointed Robert Miller as President and Chief Executive Officer, effective June 8, 2026. He succeeds John Dwyer, who is retiring after a distinguished career of nearly four decades.

Following a national search, the Board selected Robert Miller for his leadership, strategic clarity, and deep commitment to EastRise’s purpose and values.

“EastRise is built on trust and a deep commitment to people,” said Spencer Newman, Chair of the Board. “We sought a leader with vision, experience, sand a leadership style rooted in putting people first. Rob brings proven, innovative, and values-based leadership to guide EastRise’s next chapter.”

Miller currently serves as President and Chief Operating Officer, where he has helped lead EastRise through a pivotal period of transformation. He previously served as CEO of VSECU for nearly a decade and brings deep experience in banking, organizational leadership, and community impact. His background includes roles at Citibank, service with the Vermont Department of Economic Development, and leadership roles in investment management.

“At EastRise, we believe banking should be a source of strength and peace of mind, and today that belief matters more than ever,” said Miller. “As financial services rapidly evolve, we will adapt with urgency and innovation while staying true to who we are: relationship-first, grounded in our communities, and committed to helping people build stronger, more sustainable financial futures.”

“Our team members make this possible,” Miller added. “When we invest in a culture of trust, clarity, and shared ownership, we deliver better experiences for our members. I’m honored to step into this role and excited about what we will build together.”
