Heritage Family Credit Union (HFCU) is excited to announce the
return of the Ron Hance Memorial Golf Classic to Rutland Country Club on Monday, September 14, 2026, marking the revival of a local destination golf event named in honor of the Credit Union’s former CEO who led the organization with distinction for 36 years until his retirement in 2014.

Hance loved golf and made a great many contributions to the Rutland community, which is why we are so excited to see his legacy live on through this annual event, with all net proceeds benefitting local organizations under the direction of the Heritage Family Cares 4 You Foundation.”
A member of the Credit Union Executive Society Hall of Fame, Hance led HFCU through more than three decades of growth and continues to be revered by many in the field as an industry pioneer. He served on the boards of the World Council of Credit Unions, National Credit Union Association, and Vermont Credit Union League as well as Rutland Regional Medical Center and the College of St. Joseph. Hance was also named Businessperson of the Year by the Rutland Region Chamber of Commerce in 2012, and his exemplary leadership continues to be remembered with the Ron Hance Operations Center on Allen St. in Rutland, VT, which HFCU dedicated in his honor in 2013.
